Remeshing a composite structure
Hello,
For a project of mine, i created a composite structure with different plies and laminates and i applied a mesh with element size 10mm to it.
However after doing some analysis, i would like to refine the mesh to for example an element size of 5 mm to see how accurate my mesh is and if more refinement is needed.
I'm having some issues with remeshing because all the sets that were created when i created the plies, suddenly become empty after i remesh the structure. This leads to errors when i try to execute the analysis.
What would be the correct way to remesh a composite structure without having these problems with the plies and their sets?
King regards

Hi @Jeroen DV
This can be done with Surfaces which is still under testing and should be available soon.

The problem is that i don't have that much time left to finish my project due to deadlines so is there another workaround that can help me?

Hi,
I will check if there is a work around for the same.

If the plies created with geometry information, on realization of plies should get new element sets. But this is still in infant phase.
You can give it a try.

Any news if it is possible yet to remesh a composite structure with surfaces without losing the sets connected to the plies?

Hi,
I have raised an RFE for the same. Waiting for the team to develop the same /emoticons/default_smile.png' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' title=':)' width='20'>
