3D Mesh connectivity

Hi,

I am trying to perform static structural analysis on a geometry with two components, which is basically a practice  for more complicated geometries. I meshed the two components but unfortunately, I could not connect the components together and they become separated after applying force. The test geometry is attached as STEP file. Can anyone can give me some piece of advice.

    It's simple. Split part1 by using Part2's faces:

    Thanks for the help,

    Could you please expand the explanation a little bit further. For example, How can I split the part1 by part 2 surfaces? and Where can I equivalent of nodes? and unfortunately, my version of HyperMesh is version 14 and it is not compatible with version 17. Is there any way for me to open the file.

    Do you know how to split un solid by a plan?
