Properties of a electromagnetic shield

Hello FEKO users,

I am using CADFEKO version 7.0.

I added a wall next to a helmholz coil. And I get no error if I start the solver.

But what I miss is the following:

- How can I change the material of the wall to Steel_stainless?   (In the properties of the mesh or the region I can only choose between 'Perfect electric conductor' and 'Free space')

- Shouldn't that wall be bound on a grounding or specific potential?  If yes, how can I do it?

- Talking about potentials: Will this be just a subject of POSTFEKO?  There, how can I add a scale of potentials (ideally numbers and unities) about the relating colours shown?

Many thanks in advance!

    Hi @Wilson

You can set the material properties of the cuboid in the following manner:

    - select the cuboid Region and change the Medium to Free space

    - select the cuboid faces, set them to stainless steel and specify the thickness.

Have a look at this post 23752-import-model as well as the getting started and examples guide for further details on this step.

Regarding the wall grounding, you cannot 'assign' a potential to it. If a source is connected to the wall, then the potential will be dictated by the source.

Or you could 'ground' the wall by connecting it to an infinite ground, but I don't think that would be representative of the physical model. The question really boils down to what the physical model looks like and building that in FEKO.

To get potentials, set these on the Advanced tab of the Near field request in CADFEKO. The near field results in POSTFEKO will then be the potentials and you can set the display limits from the Display tab and click Individual Range.
