Can I connect to the DSP through a USB to parallel port interface?

I want to connect the DSP through a USB to parallel port interface as my new system does not have a parallel port. The system does not recognize the DSP connected to the USB port this way. Do u have any info on that.

TI's older parallel port dev kits and JTAG emulators (eZdsp F2812/F2407) require 2-way communication to work properly. This is rarely implemented in USB-parallel port adaptors. You can purchase an external USB JTAG unit for $90 from Spectrum Digital Or you can switch to a more modern MCU part from TI like the F28069. You can get a USB JTAG enabled dev kit for the F28069 for $40, or for $100 you can get the full pinout, more capable version of the dev kit
