Connecting 1D beam to 3D block

As it can be seen in figure one, I am trying to connect a beam (1D) to a  block (3D). The block is fixed at the left end and the beam is loaded with a force. My result of the optistruct analysis are shown in figur 2. The beam is extremely deformed without causing any deformation of the block. I made the last node of the beam and one of the block coincident by 'f3 -> equivalence' (see figure 3) but I think the bending moment is still not transfe<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>rred to the block. Maybe someone can help me out with this.
