Mesh Extrusion in HW CFD

hi experts,

HW CFD 2021 has been released with many good functions and improved performance.

But there is one thing that still need to be added into this product.

The thing i'm mentioned is "mesh extrusion".

This command is really important in meshing for 2D simulation with AcuSolve or even for some model with long length like a tube.

With AcuConsole, we can make a 1 layer-3D mesh very easy.

But HW CFD somehow not so strong to create this kind of mesh.

I know we have "volume mesh control" with "thin layer meshing" inside HW CFD. But to be honest, this one is not efficient.

May i know is there any plan to intergrate this function into HW CFD?

Thank you!

Mesh extrusion is a known missing feature in HW CFD - and is certainly in the plan for future development.  Hopefully it will be included towards the end of this year.

    hi acupro,

thank you for your always response.

i would like to add another command in HW CFD which is "project solution".

Currently, we can only perform the "restart function" on HW CFD.

Otherwise, we need to make some hand editting in the inp file for the nodal initial condition with NIC files.

or atleast just add some entries in the "initialize" where we can point the the NIC files.

Yes - again known and on the list - targeted for end of this year.
