Hello,I'm using FEKO to construct leaky coaxial cable. But I am getting an error :'ERROR 3849: Wrong specification of the medium for a metallic triangle. '

Does anybody know what might be causing this and how to fix it?

The attachment is the project I created.

Thanks a lot!

    Hello @Hatter

The error is related to the meshing of the coax. The way you have set up the model, the thickness of the metallic outer and inner conductor needs to be meshed. I have changed your model (deleted some faces) so that the conductors are now modelled as surfaces - at this frequency it should be sufficient. I have attached the model, that now runs without error.

However, if you need to include the thickness of the conductors you will need to try using a finer mesh to get around the error that you experienced.

Hi,Mr.Futter. Thanks for answering my question so quickly.

Can you show me you FEKO version for me ? I could not open the project you attached  using FEKO v14.0.

And I have already tried  increasing the mesh resolution to solve this. But it produced a large number of triangles because of the overlapping surfaces of metals and dielectrics.

    Hello @Hatter

You can find the version of Feko on the About CADFEKO dialog - I am using 2018.2 which is the latest version of Feko. If you update to this version you will be able to open the model that I attached.

Alternatively, if you delete the outer faces of the outer conductor geometry of your cable it will fix the error that you ran into.
