I need to change the medium of multiple faces, unfortunately on the drop down menu, there is the option for PEC and Default only and i can not choose the medium i have added to the model. The union solution suggested in some forum answers is not available for highlighting.

 

How best can i change the face medium of multiple faces?

    Hi Nyasha

     

    I assume that you are able to multi-select more than 1 face at a time? Depress either CTRL key and click the faces you want or CTRL+A to select all faces across all parts.

     

    I would guess what your actual problem is that some faces cannot be changed to dielectric? Note that only faces on the boundary of a closed object can be set to dielectric.

    For example, if you have a cuboid, then you can select all faces change to dielectric. But if you delete one face, the cuboid is open and it is not allowed to set dielectric anymore.

     

    You can check if an object is closed by enabling 'Connectivity' on the Display options tab. This will display in red where triangles are not connected to each other (for mesh displays) or for geometry where there are gaps in the geometry.
