When I try to download to the target both VisSim and Code Composer hang

When I try to download to the target VisSim stops responding. What can be the problem?

    Hi Joe, Only one application can open the JTAG driver at a time. Instead of gracefully rejecting the 2nd attempt to connect, the driver causes both applications to become unresponsive. VisSim only opens a connection when it executes a diagram containing a target block. Simply opening a diagram or editing it will not cause a JTAG connection to occur. So make sure you have exited Code Composer before you click 'Go' in VisSim.
