Hello,

 

I study on surface treatments of metals and I want to investigate the coating effects on parts. How can I define and get a coating model like this three-layered thermal barrier coating? Thanks in advance.

    Did you mean how to model a  three-layered thermal barrier coating? Also can you please explain what type of analysis you are about to perform.

    Actually, I have not decided what type of analysis to do yet. I focus on how to create a coating first. It may be three or single layered. But if the type of analysis is necessary for your help, I determine it.

    Hi mfr

     

    You can use elem offset option from 2D> elem offset. Then you have to create faces along the grey colour mesh (turbine solid mesh) and use that to create offsets. Similarly, you can create all other layers ( orange, blue..)
