Results in vector form - how to make them larger and filtered? How to export results into Paraview?
Hi all,
i need to visualize my results in vector form. Since my particles a pretty small in relation to the device i'm simulating i need the vectors to be larger and filtered, so that i can visualize the flow patterns in my geometry better. Can this be done in EDEM or can the results be exported to paraview?
Thanks!

Hi Renan,
thanks for your reply. I need to filter the number of particles. Say i have 100K particles in my domain but i just want to show every 10th particle and make the vectors larger so that i get a better optical overlook over the velocity field. Hide out of bounds just hides every particle that is not in my velocity range.
Is it possible to export the data to Paraview also?
Hi Clemens,
There's an example on how to export EDEM data to paraview in the following article:

Hi Clemens,
You can change the particle representation to Vector in the Analyst. For this you just have to go to the Analyst, click on Particles then choose Vector in the Representation drop down menu. Then, if you click on Options, under the Vectors section, you'll be able to choose which attribute is going to be used in your vector representation. Finally, if you color your particles according to any attribute then you can use the hide out of bounds option to filter your results.
You can check eLearning Lesson 17 to learn more about the functionalities of the EDEM Analyst: https://learn.altair.com/course/view.php?id=147
