Accelerations in the Load Summary Tool

I am interested in seeing the forces applied to a model.

Since Hypermesh has the internal Loads Summary Tool i used this to sum up all the forces and moments (about the origin) due to the applied load (in a selected load collector).

I was then confused by the results, because:

• The total vertical force was only equivilant to a LOAD entry
• Forces due to the systems mass and GRAV load were not listed / were nowhere near the calculated total force on the model.

Solving a linear static case of my model and then reading out the SPC forces in a Free Body Diagram displayed higher forces and Moments about the same point (origin).

These forces made sense and were infact due to the applied LOAD And GRAV entry.

But having to solve the model in order to see the total force acting on the system seems copunterintuitive, is there a better way ?

The loads summary tool does not account for gravity (or other acceleration loads)

Use the Loads Summary tool to create a summary of the loads (node-based forces or moments, and element-based pressures) applied to a model.

The true physics of the model are best found by running an analysis. Or you can calculate the load due to gravity and include that with your calculated loads from the Load Summary tool.
