FEKO : At which distance the Far Field Electric field is computed ?

Hello,

In FEKO, I can ask for a far field computation, and see the E field value. However, the E field I presume decay as 1/r. I see a value of 32mV maximum in my 3D pattern.

→ At which distance this pattern is computed ? At the definition of the far field ?

→ I see, I didn't think to check the User Guide. If we'd have to interpret it, could we say it is the "amplitude" of the decaying field ? (even if the E value still go to zero at infinity). I feel it is a way of still comparing / computing radiating fields amplitude even when they all get to zero ?

Dear @degleve_jarmlami,

Yes, the far-field is calculated at "infinity".

Please look into the following page (8.6 Far Fields and Receiving Antennas of the Feko user guide).

Because Efar is voltage, please use a near electric field value (V/m) if you want to calculate at a specific point.
