winprop trajectory heights reference definitions

Hello,

I have a trajectory and I wanted to specify it above mean sea level, or independent from the terrain.

Switching choice from this menu has no effect and the trajectory is systematically interpreted above ground.

What could be the reason?

I use v.2026.

Here it is!

Basically changing height reference, the red path shown in 3D is unchanged. Nevertheless I think it is just a visualization issue as the calculation seems correct. Please have a look from your side as well of course.

I also have put a .png in there, which is showing the same issue I mentioned in another thread.

Hello @nicolo,

I think the trajectory is well defined with respect to the sea level reference.

For example, the left starting point (trajectory) whose z is 5340 m looks ok, because the point is located below the bitmap (z=6000 m).

If I change to "Heights relative to ground" in the Simulation tab, I can see the trajectory follow the topo ground as below.

this is the issue. If I do it on my project it does not adapt the trajectory as in your case. I just see a picture like this.

Hello @nicolo,

Yes, it's strange.

However, I can't reproduce your 3D display with "Heights absolute to sea level".

I consulted our developer. We can't control the trajectory in the 3D view with some display option.

And, the 3D display is only matched with "Heights relative to ground".

Please try it with the modified project (to-altair_mod) I sent yesterday or re-install the Feko (if possible, 2026.1 version.)

I would suggest having a look at this visualization behavior. It seems pseudo-random and I would consider it as a bug.
