Hello,
I am importing a model from AVIZO into HyperMesh. The model consists of 3D elements and does not contain any geometry. To obtain a coarser mesh, I extracted the external 2D faces, converted them into surface geometry, remeshed the surfaces with 2D elements, and then generated new 3D elements from the remeshed surfaces.
The issue I am facing is that the extracted surfaces have poor quality. The grain boundaries appear jagged and faceted, and some surface edges are irregular, which leads to poor-quality remeshing and difficulties in generating a refined 3D mesh.
Is there another way to refine or coarsen the existing 3D elements directly in HyperMesh without extracting the surfaces and recreating the mesh? I have already tried using the Remesh feature on the 3D mesh, but the results were not satisfactory.
Thank you.
