I'm attempting to install Inspire Personal and it's stuck at 21% complete, does anyone know why?

Description: I opened a link from Altair sent to my email for downloading the zipped Inspire install files for the personal version and when running the executable 'AltairInspirePersonal2025.1_win64' it never progresses past 21% complete. Is this a known issue? Re-downloading the zip file (~8gb) and re-launching the executable results in the same issue.

The “stuck at 21%” issue when running the Simcenter Inspire 2025.1 installer is not a widely reported bug, so it’s likely caused by your local system environment rather than the installer itself. At around 20–30%, the installer is usually extracting large files and initializing its bundled Java runtime, which can take a long time, especially on HDDs, low-RAM systems, or if other processes are using the disk. Common causes include antivirus or Windows Defender interfering, corrupted or improperly extracted ZIP files, long or complex folder paths, insufficient permissions, GPU driver issues, or limited temporary disk space (the installer can need 50–100 GB free). Re-downloading the ZIP often doesn’t help because the problem is environmental. Recommended steps are: extract the ZIP with 7-Zip to a simple folder like C:\Altair\Inspire2025, temporarily disable antivirus, run the installer as Administrator, ensure sufficient free disk space, and be patient for up to an hour while it’s at 21%, checking that CPU or disk activity is ongoing. If it still hangs, try installing on a different drive or after a fresh reboot.
