FEKO v2026: Issue with Assigning Properties to an Imported Structure

I have imported a 3D structure from GMSH to FEKO to find its RCS(imported mesh, not geometry). In FEKO, only the surface of the structure is meshed. as a result, there is no 'region' option in construction tree for me to assign a permittivity to the whole structure. Instead, I chose the imported mesh from the tree, in the properties box, i assigned' front medium : free space', 'back medium: dielectric', and 'face medium: default'. ( I chose default, because other options were unrelated like PEC,PMC,…).

I do not have any idea what medium the software is going to consider as default?

I wanted to know whether it is a valid approach? if not, what is your suggestion?

@Fahime Setting the face medium as default means it will assign a dielectric boundary to the face. I believe because you had defined the back medium as the dielectric then it should have that boundary as default.

If you choose PEC or PMC then you can imagine it is a PEC or PMC face as the boundary of free space and the dielectric you chose as the front and back medium.
