Hello all, was hoping to get some help with this. I'm attempting to match some field data collected from a hydraulic system to the model we have created to replicate it. However, the efficiency values that were calculated based on the field data for mechanical and volumetric efficiencies of the hydraulic pump and motor in the setup are not correlating. The expected mechanical efficiencies of both were around 0.93 each, with the volumetric efficiency of each around 0.95. However, the only way to successfully match the field data is to crank up the efficiencies of both (1 for mechanical efficiency of pump and motor, 0.94 for volumetric efficiency of both). So I am wondering if Altair has built in losses for hydraulic motor and pump behaviour as is, and I am essentially adding the losses twice? When the losses are set to those calculated by the field data the results are wildly off, whereas they are near perfect when the efficiencies are set very high. Does Altair have any documentation on this that I may have missed? Thank you anyone who can help!
