Inspire Cast response units?

Hi,

If I place a sensor and have the response as Porosity, what does the numerical response refer to? In the standard Casting analysis, the Porosity "zone" is shown as a colored blob with x% porosity. But since sensors are singular points in space, how is it describing porosity (using what units)?

Hi @dhalpin ,

The percentage value shows the probability of porosity in visible blob/zone. That result is qualitative. If you are using sensors and DOE, I suggest utilizing total shrinkage volume result values. That represents the quantitative values of shrinkage porosity.
