Can I add N-post shakers into Inspire Motion

Hi all,

Now I would like to add N-post shakers in Inspire Motion, similar to what we can do in MotionSolve. However, I cannot find any tool that supports or replaces this feature.

Is it possible to add N-post shakers in Inspire Motion? If not, is there any alternative tool that can replace the N-post shaker functionality?

Hi @Hyuen,

As of now, there isn't a option in Inspire Motion to add the N-post shaker event. With some time and effort, you could replicate it in Inspire Motion.

What you could also do is export the model from Inspire to MotionView, add the npost event to the body you want to excite. Since release 2025.1, you can add npost events to models that don't include the Altair Driver/Tires. I did the same on a simple pendulum. Since I did not have a steering joint attached to my model. I created a dummy body and constrained it via a revolute joint to the ground. I then associated the steering joint attachment in npost to that joint.
