Let me describe my problem: I meshed my model using HM 2020. The model's unit system was cm, with a mesh size of 0.1cm (1mm). Then I learned the new version, HM 2026. After opening the meshed HM file from the 2020 version with the new version, I set Param/Criteria for mesh quality checks. However, a problem arose: my model is a cylinder with a diameter of 3cm. In the old version, the mesh size was 0.1cm (1mm), but in the new version, the Param/Criteria unit is mm. According to this unit, the diameter of my model becomes 0.3cm (3mm). The Param/Criteria unit cannot be adjusted, so I tried two methods:
- I reduced the 2D unit of Param/Criteria by a factor of 10, from 1mm to 0.1mm. I saved this 0.1cm value as a separate file and then opened it in 3D with the 0.1mm unit. However, there was no change in the 3D model. 1. Its dimensions remain unchanged at 2mm, and the Fail error is not the required 0.1mm, as shown in the image below. I don't know why this is happening.
- I used scaling, specifically scaling the entire model and mesh by a factor of 10. However, this presents a problem: in subsequent simulations, its dimensions changed from 3 to 30. This 30 doesn't match the unit system used in my simulation software. LSdyna uses centimeters-grams-microseconds. To ensure the units match the simulation software, I need to scale again.
Is there a better solution?
