Need Help Editing Components in MotionView Assembly Wizard (Suspension Mods)

Question

Hey everyone, I’m new to MotionSolve/MotionView and still learning the vehicle tools. I’m trying to understand how to edit, add, or remove components inside the Assembly Wizard vehicle models.

Specifically:

* How do I add custom parts (like an extra guide arm)?
* How do I modify a suspension assembly (for example, change from MacPherson to double wishbone)?
* What’s the proper workflow to break out of the template and edit the actual model?
* In the assembly wizard some components are build symetrical, how can I delete one side of the constuction?

If anyone has tutorials, documentation links, or a step-by-step explanation, I’d appreciate the guidance. Thanks!

Hi @Maximus1111,

Fortunately, all of these topics are covered in extensive detail in the Getting Started with MotionView/MotionSolve and Vehicle Modeling with MotionSolve eLearning courses.

In general, you should complete the assembly of your vehicle using the Assembly Wizard as close as possible to your ideal configuration. After assembly, you can delete entities you no longer want and add the necessary entities from the Geometry and Model tabs:

If you want to break symmetry, some entities can easily be changed from a primary side (ex. Leading-Left) to Asymmetric:

However, some entities will need to be rebuilt. You can copy the existing pair for your single definition, and then delete the pair entity once you're done using it as an example.
