Hi there,

I'm afraid this message in isolation doesn't provide much in the way of clues, however we have seen a recent case that seemed be related to some DirectX components not being installed correctly. Please download and unzip the following file, and run it on the machine, as this will ensure there are no missing DirectX functions:

Please then try to reboot your PC, when you have the chance, and relaunch S-CALC 2026.

Thank you so much for your help. The software startup problem has been resolved.

But now I'm having a problem trying to activate the student license

When I run almutil_gui.exe (C:\Program Files\Altair\2025\security\bin\win64\gui), I get the following error

Hi there, thanks for the update. Are you able to launch S-CALC directly? If so, can you access the License Management portal from within S-CALC?

Hi Matthew,

I've already solved the problem

I reinstalled everything, and followed the steps indicated on the website.

And now I can start the program and I've been able to activate it.
