Dear seniors, I’m having an issue with EDEM 2024: the process gets stuck at 2% when importing particle models in STEP or other formats. Could you please offer some guidance on how to resolve this problem?

Is this just for importing particle shapes, are you able to import geometry CAD ok?
It's possibly related to the scale of the material or particle. If you choose m or mm does it import better?

One possibility if you're importing CAD model then the major possibility is the CAD model is not proper i.e there might be duplicate surface's or multiple small features or not an enclosed volume.

It's normal, this is the deficiency of this software. The development team will never fix it because the imported geometry of this software is like this
In addition, after importing complex geometry into this software, rotating the geometry can easily cause it to get stuck

If the geometry is clean EDEM import the CAD smoothly. There are plenty of reasons where software cannot be able to import a geometry.
Can you share the geometry where you face the import issue so that will work and come back to you with appropriate solution.
