High level post processing

Any parameter that you see as a function in Inspire cast 2026 can be used as a variable to perform DOE/Optimization. Geometrical modification and Casting components has these feature. Meshing and Process parameters still does not support function to use as a variable.

Once you access the result like cold shuts, air trap, porosity from analysis explorer, simply export the file as a STL from File>Export.

Yes, I'm familiar with using variable functions, but how can we monitor "Trapped Air Volume" as a goal?

Not to hijack this thread, but my workflow is to set sprue offset as a variable, and I would like Optimization to minimize "total shrinkage volume" or "Microporosity" as a volume. Considering these defects move around, I cannot use sensors to monitor them, but the data does exist as a volume, as you show above.

I believe sensor is the only way to record the location, size and value of these results to perform DOE/Optimization. So basically if the porosity size is reduced at sensor location, you will see lower shrinkage volume in optimized run compared to Nominal run. If sensor shows 0 value for Air entrapment at specific location, your optimized design might have helped air escape from part to sprue, riser, overflows etc.

I was trying this method from within a DOE result, but it exported the part/mold, not the intended volume element. When I manually ran the single (non-DOE) analysis I was able to export the porosity as STL.

Should it be possible from within a DOE run?
