I am currently working with Altair Inspire and using Design Explorer to optimize a simple structure.
Context:
I run a static analysis + linear buckling analysis manually, and both solve correctly.
The geometry is defined wuth the design variables in Inspire.
The model is very simple and the analyses run fine outside optimization.
Problem: When I launch a Design Explorer optimization with the objective to minimize the buckling factor (mode 2 for example), all runs fail and I get:
EXPRESSION_ERROR for Buckling_1
EXPRESSION_ERROR for Objective_1
All runs are marked as Violated
Best Iteration = None
So it seems that during optimization, the buckling response is not evaluated, even though the buckling study works correctly when run manually.
What I already checked / tried:
Static + Buckling both solve correctly outside optimization
Buckling study includes at least 1 mode
Design variables have reasonable bounds (but notre very sure)
Geometry scale was increased to avoid meshing issues
Any advice or best practices would be greatly appreciated.
