Hyperstudy parameter sweeping for EDEM parameterization scan encountered issues.

I am using HyperStudy to perform a parameterized sweep of the geometric sine motion frequency in EDEM (1–9 Hz). As shown in the figure, HyperStudy reports all runs as successful, but when I check the generated input files, the parameters were not modified. What could be the reason?

Hi,

I had a check using 2025.1 using the same Sinusoidal Frequency and also I see the same issue, that the frequency value isn't updated as expected.

However if I setup all the options for the motion in the connector like this:

But then de-select the unwanted ones and only choose frequency:

Then it appies and updates OK. It looks like its a bug but hopefully the workaround works for you also.

In 2026 a new method for connecting EDEM to HyperStudy is going to be used so this is likely to be resolved with that version.

Hi,

I expect this is an issue with how the files are linked. Which version of EDEM and HyperStudy are you using?

In Setup > Define Models when you add the EDEM as a resource and you select Model Resources it should look like this:

With the EDEM .dem file set as "write input".

Also to confirm do you have parameters selected for modification in the HyperStudy connector window, for example:

The version of EDEM and Hyperstudy are both 2024, the window is like this:

And I have selected the parameter like this:

But when I open the input file I hope it can generate, the parameter is the nominal number:

This file is generated by Hyperstudy, I hope it can change the frequency to 3Hz, but it still maintains 1Hz.

I think it is ok, although the problem still exists. But it may be the version difference. I will try 2025.1 later. Thanks for your help.
