How do i model a split flap for a wing in FlightStream correctly?

Hello, i want to simulate a wing with extended split flap on the bottom surface of the wing. I need help in finding the best strategy to set up the simulation in FlightStream. I am not sure what to declare as a base flow region. Its obvious that the blunt trailing edge of the wing and the flap are both base regions but i am unsure on how to treat the backside of the extended split flap. The flap is depolyed downwards up to 60 degrees of deflection. If there is any experience in modeling such a problem correctly to get accurate force data, I would appreciate some guidance.

Thanks for contacting Altair FlightStream. If the flap has a blunt trailing edge, then it will be assigned as a base region with the trailing edge defined for the whole region (It can be auto detected in FlightStream). I'm not sure what do you mean by the backside of the extended split flap? Are there two flaps? I see only one and if they are morphing surfaces, you can create curves on them, split the top and bottom surfaces (assign them as separate surfaces) and then assign the trailing edges and wake termination nodes. I addition you can refer the User Manual → Boundary Conditions where information on how to assign trailing edge and wake termination for wings having control surfaces.
