How to calculate the total phase of the surface current?

How to calculate the total phase of the surface current? In the .os file of feko, there are amplitude and phase information of the current in different directions presented in the form of real and imaginary parts. Then how to calculate the phase of the current in one direction in total?

How can I view the phase of the surface current of each patch in postfeko?

Hi @Li_BT ,

As you noted the surface current is a complex vector. For each mesh triangle Feko gives you the Real and Imaginary parts of Jx, Jy and Jz. The phase of each component is calculated as arctan(Im(Jk)/Re(Jk)). For a complex vector a single total phase cannot be defined unless all the components of the vector have the same phase.

If you are interested in the excitation phase of the radiating element it might be more meaningful to look at the Voltage/Current phase at the antenna terminal.

I am not aware of any method for displaying the phase of the surface current on each mesh element in POSTFEKO. The magnitude can be shown by holding down Ctrl+Shift and placing the mouse cursor on the geometry.
