Hello everyone,
for my thesis, I'm performing a topology optimization on a train car. I have different load cases, such as a compressive force or the effect of the car's own weight plus payload. In one case, the car is lifted at three of its four points, so that it's tilted in the air. This is meant to simulate a torsional effect. For this case, I would expect an X-shaped structure on the floor to counteract the load. Unfortunately, I've only been able to get rudimentary versions of the structure, even though I've introduced a rotational constraint at the ends of the longitudinal beams and the floor. After the simulation, I get a discreteness index of 0.79, which is quite good. The only thing I'm still missing is this X-shaped structure on the floor. It would be great if someone could give me some advice. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to upload the model.
