In Feko, I can choose "thickness" when entering a media for one of my layers :
Should i set it to be of the thickness of my antenna ? For example, my antenna here is a flat metallic sheet of 1mm of thickness.
Is 1e-3 the right parameter here ?
Thx !
Hi @degleve ,
The Thickness field in the Face Medium Property represents the thickness of the "material layer" that the face medium simulates. It lets you simulate thin materials without creating a full 3D volume.
If your antenna is flat metallic sheet made of copper, then yes, you can set the thickness of 1e-3 in the face medium.

Hello,
Thanks a lot for answering.
But so in the case of a mettalic cube of side 5mm, should i still set 5mm ?
I do not really understand what is this thickness variable for.
Also, I wish to make an antenna whose thickness is smaller than the skin depth. How am I supposed to process ? I understand the specified thickness here should be greater than the skin depth.
Thanks a lot,
Pierre
Oh and finally, I can read this error message when specifying thickness to the one of my antenna :
" Triangle number: 10 Thickness: 5.00000E-04 Lateral dimension: 2.27696E-04 WARNING 2757: A triangle is too thick as compared to the lateral dimensions for application of the skin effect approximation WARNING 32383: Further warnings 2757 will be suppressed
"
So I guess it means the skin depth computations are not done for these triangles, and that :
"Further warnings 2757 will be suppressed" means it concerns all my triangles ?
Thanks,
