Hello EDEM Community,
I'm in the process of purchasing a GPU specifically for accelerating large-scale particle simulations in EDEM. To make an informed decision, I'm looking for any available performance comparisons or benchmarks when using GPU acceleration in EDEM with consumer-grade vs professional-grade cards, such as:
- NVIDIA RTX 4090 or 5090 (GeForce series)
- NVIDIA Tesla V100 or A100 (professional series)
If anyone has direct experience, test results, or official documentation on how these GPUs compare in terms of speed-up, efficiency, or scalability for EDEM workloads (especially with massive particle counts), that would be incredibly helpful.
Additionally, I'm curious about recommendations regarding the GeForce series for professional EDEM use. Are they suitable and supported, or is it better to stick with professional-grade cards for stability and performance?
Any advice, links to resources, or user experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
