How to Use Our Own Chassis Model in Altair Baja/FSAE Vehicle Library

I’ve been exploring the Altair Baja/FSAE library. I wanted to confirm whether there’s an option to add our own or did you provided default already on the chassis? (custom frame geometry) in place of the default one.

If that’s possible, could you please explain the correct procedure or workflow for doing so for example:

how to import our chassis model into the library environment,
whether we need to define attachment points manually(How is that? then), and
what file format or setup is recommended.

I’m currently trying to integrate a custom Baja frame and want to ensure I’m following the right process.

Also, i get to know this from the Altair global student team workshop conducted today

All of these required steps are outlined in our eLearning courses, such as Getting Started with MotionView as well as Vehicle Modeling with MotionSolve. Do you have access to online training?

Hello @Meghasai_1828 ,

You can add your own geometry for the frame. I did not have proper geometry when I updated the library, so the graphic was omitted. What you will need to do is to first import the graphics. You can do this by either creating a new graphic, setting the type to CADGRAPHIC and selecting from our long list of eligible CAD. My preference is to use Parasolid or step.

You can also import the geometry by going to File > Import > Geometry, Or File> Import > Geometry or FEM using HyperMesh

Once you have the geometry imported, you will need update its body collector to the vehicle body.

I would highly suggest going over our Getting Started with MotionView as well as Vehicle Modeling with MotionSolve.

Sorry, but I didn’t find the specific steps there I’ve already gone through those courses earlier.

Could you please point me to the exact section or any additional material that explains how to replace or add our own chassis in the Baja/FSAE library?
