Can the EDEM software run on a Windows Server system?

Dear Altair EDEM Support Team,

Can the EDEM software run on a Windows Server system? I found that versions of EDEM prior to 2022.3 can run on Windows Server 2025, but versions after EDEM 2022.3 cannot open normally. Could you please explain the reason?🤖

Hi,

Windows server isn't a supported operating system, you can find the list here:

I would expect it could be made to work as it's not so different. Any issues are likely to be graphics related, typically windows server required the 'desktop experience' to be installed and I would expect it will also require a graphics card to be installed on the server. Possibly the difference between the old and newer versions of EDEM is graphics related. You may find that the latest versions run OK in command line.
