Generally how can one compute S-parameters for a meta-cell design?
It is understood that TR coefficients can be requested for a design like that shown in Fig. 1. However, the goal is to compute the parameters for a cell with a specified thickness, as illustrated in Fig. 2.
For this second case (Fig. 2), the calculation of S-parameters differs from that of TR coefficients. If this interpretation is correct, what is the proper method to compute the parameters of a cell with thickness? Should ports be defined in this situation?
