I have a simply supported model in SimSolid with four supports. Each reaction support has a reaction in only the Z direction (or essentially zero in the other two axes), and zero moment reported. However, when I select all of them in the dialog box to get a total, the resultant moment is quite large in the X & Y direction, and non-zero in the Z direction. The total force components are mostly correct (there is only a Z-axis load, but the total X & Y reactions do not add up to zero)
My question is, what does this reported moment represent? I've played around with simpler models trying to figure out where these numbers are coming from, but they seem to be arbitrary. Each reaction is the same magnitude, as they are centered around the load so I don't see how it could be from any sort of reaction imbalance.
