FlightStream - CCS Wing Meshing Growth Controls Being Ignored

Hi,

I have been using the CCS wing meshing tool in FlightStream to create the wings and horizontal/vertical stabiliser for a light aircraft. The mesher works fine without control surfaces, but the moment I specify a control surface it seems to ignore any growth scheme settings.

For example, this wing has 160 chordwise subdivisions with a dual-side successive growth rate of 1.1:

But as soon as I add a control surface, the growth scheme is ignored:

I have tested this in versions 2025.1, 2025 and 2024 and the behaviour persists in all of them.

Is there any fix or workaround for this? The mesh with the control surface produces poor results without the growth scheme

Hi, I think I had a similar experience in the past, also when trying to enforce a meshing scheme spanwise. It should be a limitation of the CCS meshing tool.

Hello,

Thanks for contacting Altair FlightStream support. It is a current issue of the control surfaces meshing in CCS and a fix is on the way with future FlightStream releases.

The current workaround would be to increase the node density and use a constant distribution.
