Dear Team,

I am trying to simulate the door slam analysis using Motionview/ MotionSolve referring to the tutorial from Flexible body dynamics- "MV-2021: Simulate an Automotive Door Closure Event". I am getting an error while running the analysis-

Error:-

"Unknown function "DY"...Math parser error evaluating Lock recognise-expr-expr under Model. [General]"

To detect the closing of Door, I am creating an event sensor using expression-

"DY({MODEL.m_door.idstring},{MODEL.m_car.idstring},{MODEL.m_car.idstring})"

Same Varname is used for markers as well, but the function DY itself is not recognising.

Please help to resolve the issue.

Note: I am using Motionview Version 2024.1

Hello @Nithin_Raj_2025,

I am assuming the issue is with the double-inverted commas that you are using for enclosing the DY expression.

Instead of using " ", please use the backtick `` symbol to enclose the expressions, which you can find just below the Esc button on your keyboard. Just copy paste the below expression and let me know if it solves your issue.

`DY({MODEL.m_door.idstring},{MODEL.m_car.idstring},{MODEL.m_car.idstring})`
