I ran two particle mixing cases in EDEM 2025 with GPU CUDA. One case used the JKR V1 model and the other used the JKR V2 model. The surface energy in V2 was set to twice that of V1 (as shown in the figure). No contact radius was specified in either case, and all other conditions were exactly the same. I expected the simulation results to be the same, but the mixing outcomes were very different. Why is this happening? Did I misunderstand something? Looking forward to your reply.
Hi,
It looks like the correct approach to set the correct surface energy values between the two models. Although V2 is designed to be used with the contact radius. Did you have a calibrated model with V1 that you were looking to convert to V2? Otherwise I'd recommend using just one of the models, V2 is the most up to date version.
