How to make an account an admin?

I get this message when I log on to AI Hub with the built-in admin account "You are logged in as a temporary admin user. To harden security, create a permanent admin account and delete the temporary one." I have created another account, but can't figure out how to make it an admin. The account is a member of the admin group.

Hi @SJP, I was able to reproduce what you are seeing when I login as admin, which does not seem correct to me. I am digging further into that.

To address your actual question, in addition to making your new admin user a member of the admin group, you will also need to assign them the admin role (and perhaps default-roles-master and platform-admin roles).

From the Keycloak screen, where you are seeing the error banner, select your new admin user, then select Role mapping, then Assign role and add the above-mentioned roles.

Please let me know how you fair with those instructions and I will let you know if I find out more about why you are getting that error banner to begin with.

Hi @Nicholas_21406 - the missing step is that when assigning roles to Filter by realm roles then it is easy to find the admin and platform-admin roles to assign to the new account.

banner, here is the feedback from the Product team (which I only just received): "

This is the default admin created during the installation. The recommendation is to always use personal admin users, which become accountable. That’s why there’s a warning there. Otherwise there is no security issue with keeping admin as a user. The recommendation is to create another admin user.
