HyperStudy Tips and Tricks: #34 – Pre-requisite before importing shapes as design variables in HyperStudy
Hello HyperStudy users.
When using shapes as design variables from HyperMesh in HyperStudy, it is important to consider the following:
- HyperMesh files (.hm)/OptiStruct files (.fem) should only have shapes as entities & one should NOT create DESVARS for the required shapes.
If DESVARS exists in the HyperMesh file (.hm)/OptiStruct file (.fem) integrated with HyperStudy, the solver run under ‘Test Model’s will fail with the below mentioned error:
The above-mentioned error arises due to DESVARS existing in the .fem file with no other required entities for OptiStruct optimizer. Since HyperStudy optimizer will be leveraged for performing an optimization (instead of OptiStruct’s), the DESVARS are not required in the .hm/ .fem file.
