Hello to everyone,
I want to start a discussion about bolt pretensioning in more complex situations. I will give you a screenshot of my example and tell me what you think is right. So, I have 5 surfaces which need to be connected using one M14 bolt (CBAR with washer option). The default is, that hypermesh generates a RB2 on each hole and a CBAR segment in between each pair.
How is the pretensioning done in this situation? do each of the segments of the bolt need to have a PTFORCE assigned? Will this require quite a bit more of computing power or it will not have a substantial impact on solver time?
Can I to begin with, make a bolt between the two outermost layers and add contact in between each layer and only one pretension force for the whole length?
How can I make the simplest representation of a bolted connection in this situation? Can I disregard contact between the layers?
Thank you in advance
