This tutorial uses EDEM 2025.1 or later EDEM versions.
Liquid Bridge Model Overview:
This tutorial demonstrates how to configure the Liquid Bridge Contact Model in EDEM. The model simulates capillary cohesion between particles, commonly found in applications like wet granulation and tablet coating.
The focus of this tutorial is on:
- Enabling and configuring the Liquid Bridge model
- Analysing liquid exchange and cohesive interactions between granular materials
Notes:
- In this model surface tension dominates the liquid bridge force, and not the viscous effect. For this reason, consider using this model when the material is slightly wet, but not when it is fully saturated.
- The model is compatible with Multi-Sphere and Sphero-Cylinder particles, but not with Polyhedral particles.
