Insert line break is discarding text after the break

I'm using Monarch Pro 10.5 and have a 3.5 gb text file with 6300+ bytes per line.  I'm using Monarch Utility to insert a page break, placing it after byte 3497.  The result:  a smaller file with the data after 3497 discarded.  What am I doing wrong?

 

Within Monarch Utility I'm using "Prepare Files for Monarch", then Insert line break into files having line lengths greater than 4000 characters (enter 3497).

    Did you specify Segment Lengths?

     

    From ancient recollections I seem to recall that if you just specify a Line Break point truncation is assumed.

     

    I might be wrong.
