Hi
I am using Inspire 2025 and I have a made model in Catia V5 and I was wondering if it is impossible to import the parameters that I have made in Catia V5 to Inspire? If so, how do I do that and can they then be changed in "Variables" in Inspire?
Hi @Karl_H,
Inspire is able to import Catia V5 geometry, as is shown when using File » Import and then changing the file type to CATIA V5.
When you use this method, do parameters from the Catia model not import as well?
Can you share a simple model from Catia with parameters to test?
Hope this helps!

Hi Adam,
I have been trying to import this Geometry, which is just a simple extrude with a parameter how high the extrude will be. But when I import the file to Inspire only the geometry will be imported and not the parameter "Height".
Ah, it does look like either importing or opening the Test.CATPart does not include construction history for Catia V5.
Do you have any other export options, like .MODEL or .3DXML?
It is very plausible that the history will not be retained, but I am just curious if a slightly older version of Catia (V4) or a slightly newer version (V6) may allow this import.
You may require the use of SimLab to be able to modify the Catia file rather than re-parameterize the file in Inspire.
Hi Adam, Is it possible to transfer the file from Simlab to Inspire? BR
