Joining of mirrored components.

I have two 2d meshed components which I mirrored at their symmetry plane, but I can't find a way to join the (congruent) nodes.

Using stitch or surface repair screws up the mesh, as its remeshing the components. Mirrored surfaces seem to be violated some how.

Is there a way to simply connect two meshes? I'm working with 2025 Hypermesh&Optistruct

you can use the equivalence tool for coincident or nearly coincident nodes
