Cantilever Beam

Hello, all,

Please, I was wondering if it is possible to replicate the fixed end (circled in the picture below) of a cantilever beam in EDEM.

If yes, how do I go about it?

I will be using sphero-cylinders for the particle. I am trying to keep one end of the sherocylinder fixed and apply a load at the free end.

Hi,

You could use the Rigid Link interaction where the particle will be fixed to the wall:

or you could create the end of the beam with a different particle type and select the 'fixed velocity' option for this one particle type. Then the particle will always stay at the specified velocity (it stays at whatever velocity is set in the Factory) and you can bond the other particle type to this one.

I was able to figure out the fixed velocity option yesterday. However, I am going to try out the rigid link option.
