Monarch 10.5 - will not import or export PDF Documents

I just moved one of my employees from Windows 7 / Monarch v8 to Windows 8.1 Monarch v10.5.

The Monarch 10.5 will not open any PDF documents.  I have read some of the forum discussions and was able to confirm that the PDF files had data.  Also, the report works on the old pc but not the new PC.

I remember this being somewhat of a problem every time we move to a new computer. But cannot remember the fix.

The only thing I can think of is that the PDF Import options window isn't opening.   The message I get is that the PDF cannot open and will be imported as text.  I think if we can get to the import options page, I can mirror what was set on the old Monarch v8.

Anyone with a quick fix?

    Hi Mark,

Is it possible to ignore the warning and let Monarch open the PDF as text so that you can go to Options and open the PDF Import options dialog?

Also, may I have a copy of your PDF with the model and project so that we can try and figure out the easiest way to fix the problem.  Kindly send it to my email address.

    Thanks

    Mela

Thanks for the response Mela.  Sadly that isn't an option.  But, I think I found the issue.  I need to transfer the license from the old to the new install.  It has been years since I installed and used Monarch that I forgot that part.  Unlike other apps, Monarch doesn't force you through the registration so I completely forgot.   Well, I think that is the issue.  I am working through my IT dept on the licensing now.

Again, thanks for the response Mela.

I suspect you are right Mark.

It's going back a while but as I recall PDF work was a "Pro" version feature but you could install non "Pro" Monarch and run it (perhaps as a trial for a limited period?) without the key. Something like that.

Licensing and activation is handled differently in more recent releases and you would be made aware of that when trying to use the application.
