How to properly identify the weight of the casting in INPSIRE CAST 25

hi @MilanRaval

i have a query, that is whether the selected materials' density is right or wrong, as i thought the weight of the casting was not correct.

so I saw them at the property editor tab and at the gravity setup tab, So what do u think the gravity setup is showing and for which the weight is mentioned, the weight of casting + gating + riser or only the casting.

please mention about the accuracy of the density of the materials as i miss assume the weight from a 3D cad software and inspire.

Hi @venomousDNA,

Mass and Density shown in process setup tab is correct. please dis-regard the values of mass from Property editor as it is not correct and carried on from original Inspire tool. Also, the mass of process setup tab is the total weight of all casting components (Cast part + Chillers + Riser etc)

if the mass shown in the properties tab is incorrect then how should i know the specific values of the models i need such as the a part of the runner/ gating system, casting, etc.

And u have also said that

but even though chillers arent part of the casting component, the runners are, but their weight arent added upon.

so please clarify this for me.

Hi,

If you are just looking for the mass of the specific liquid part like runner, There is a work around you can follow.

Import the assembly and assign that part as a Cast part, create gate and open process tab.
If you setup everything, you can get total mass of the liquid parts.

See example in attached images.
