Layered_Plate_interaction_in case of 3d solid mesh

Hi everyone, I have a problem with plate-to-plate interaction while simulating a ballistic impact problem, a case of layered armor impact. I have two armor plates of 25mm of RHA steel with no gap between them. so, how is the contact definition defined in order to simulate the actual phenomena? What are the key parameters, and how to select the slave and master entity between them? Here are the screenshots for reference. how the deformed part of 1st plate is interact with the 2nd plate while penetration is going on. thank you
